Ooh, I know. They should give every writer who deploys the correct verb for subjunctive mood a $5 bonus per occurrence. If that were the case, I'd have just earned $5! I wish it were so. (Cha-ching!) Also, $10 for having correct capitalization in titles, rather than random "How To use capital LetTers in your Medium articles" stuff I see all the time. A $2 kicker for not putting a question mark at the end of a How To article title.

And $15 for every article that doesn't have a number in it because no one earth needs yet another list of the seven ways to do....anything.

The biggest bonus? $25 for every article that's not self-help or pseudo-psychology. Personally, it would be a great investment for Medium to cut down on the preponderance of crap.

(And obvi, $1 for correctly spelling preponderance.)

PS: I was also longing to pull out my red pen on that $60,000 grand prize winning piece. How does one win when so much tightening up and strengthening was warranted? I digress....
